A banded pink Mangano Calcite geometric heart.
Manganoan calcite, also known as pink calcite, is a mineral that is part of the calcite family. It gets its pink color from the presence of manganese. It is found in sedimentary rocks and is commonly found in Mexico, Peru, and the United States.
Geologically, manganoan calcite is formed in marine environments through the precipitation of calcium carbonate. It can also form in hydrothermal veins and in caves through the deposition of calcium carbonate from groundwater.
These crystals glow bright pink under a UV light!
